    Dr.Sunun Benjachareonwong was the speaker for this symposium. There are a lot of participants from both government segment and private segment in this symposium. This speaker presented about HbA1c testing for clinical used and the factors that interfere on HbA1c measurement, such as hemoglonbin disorder may affect on accurate HbA1c results or misinterpretation, as HbA1c result doesn’t reflect the patient’s level of diabetic control because of a pathological conditions that affect on life span of RBC, especially hemoglobinopathies and iron deficiency anemia that affect on red cell turn over and advised on how to avoid reporting of misleading HbA1c results to physicians.
